The CEMP programme poses three principal
questions:
-
What are the
structure and role of the significant carriers of management knowledge
in Europe? (The Carriers),
-
What is
communicated through these carriers? (The Content),
-
To what
extent do these carriers diffuse management knowledge in various
European countries? (The Diffusion).
From a consideration of these three
questions it can be established that the four major carriers of management
technology are: graduates, publications, consultants and
multinationals. The programme is therefore divided into four
sub-themes each dealing with the three above mentioned questions in
relation to one particular carrier. The sub-themes are co-ordinated by
professor Rolv Petter Amdam, Oslo, Norway (graduates), professor José
Luis Alvarez, Barcelona, Spain (publications) and Dr. Matthias Kipping,
Reading, United Kingdom (consultants). Responsible for the multinationals
is professor Lars Engwall, Uppsala, Sweden, who also is the over-all
co-ordinator.
